If you don’t take a chance *nothing* happens.
“The bottom line is in life, sometimes good things happens, sometimes bad things happen. But honey, if you don’t take a chance nothing happens.”
Who else gets a smidgen uncomfortable when it comes to taking chances? Recently, I’ve been doing this on my own micro level when it comes to my Etsy shop and it is rattling the HELL out of me. Whether it’s my posting a new shirt I designed or contacting an influencer, I’m taking steps outside my comfort zone by taking chances. But Dorothy is right; if you don’t take a chance, NOTHING happens.
I started my own company and shop because I was tired of applying to other companies, receiving little to no response back and basically being told that I’m not worthy of hiring which is total bullshit. I got sick of that and decided that enough was enough; I wasn’t going to waste any more time or energy applying to companies that could not see my inherent value. There really wasn’t anything left to do but to hire myself, which is great because there are no surprises and I know my every next move!
Does it rattle you to take chances? Does it depend on the size of the “risk” (or at least, the size risk that you perceive?) If so, always remember Dorothy’s wise words and let it thrust you forward (like Blanche’s breasts, when she holds her breath to meet a man!)
Edit: totally unrelated, but if you happen to love Kat Von D’s makeup, I’m wearing the limited edition Thumbelina from the Farm Sanctuary collection. This is what it looks like on a super pale person. You’re welcome!
