Your next sarcastic insult, provided by Dorothy Zbornak
“I’ve just been thrown out of an unauthorized Elvis fan club. I’ll try to pick up the pieces and go on with my life. I mean, there must be a support group for people like me.”
This has to be one of my all time favorite quotes from the entire series. Dorothy delivers these two lines with sarcasm, a deadpan look and an absolutely perfect steadiness after Blanche and Rose kick her out of their “Hunka Hunka Burnin’ Love Elvis Fan Club.” Freaking GOLD! I use this whenever I get the opportunity in my every day exchanges with people.
Admittedly, I don’t have too many people in my life who kick me out of clubs, activities or exclude me in general, but if I ever feel it can work I use it. For example, if my sister were to say to me, “Hill, Ugg boots were only on sale until last night! You missed it!”
My response, without a doubt, would be “I’ll try to pick up the pieces and get on with my life…” Anyone who knows me, knows that Ugg boots make me irrationally angry. I can’t explain it, but I can’t *stand* them. Maybe it’s because you can’t actually wear them in the snow or rain without your feet getting soaked (even if you use the stupid spray that is made specifically to negate that entire possibility. Don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise.)
To be fair, I also feel this way (irrationally angry) when I see that hair guy from One Direction. OH MY GOD, SOMEONE JUST CUT HIS STUPID HAIR!!! Not because I don’t dig long hair on some dudes; it’s HIS HAIR SPECIFICALLY that makes me angry.
Anywhoots, I felt the need to share with ya’ll because this is seriously one of my favorite quotes from the show. Take it, learn it, use and love it!
Sass the hell out of people!
